Ghanaian airline makes history with first ever all-female flight crew
Domestic airline, PassionAir has announced the successful operation of the first ever all-female crewed flight.
The airline made the announcement via a press release on Saturday, February 20, 2021 stating, “The flight, OP 178 from Accra to Tamale, was entirely ‘womanned’ by women from the flight deck to the cabin.”
“We hope this historic moment empowers and inspires women all over the world,” added PassionAir.
This flight indicates that, whatever men can do, women can do and even better when given equal opportunities,” said Captain Eva Gichuru, pilot-in-command of the flight.
The crew members were Judith Amoasi (Cabin Crew Lead), Captain Eva Gichuru, First Officer Shelia Njonjo and Judith Boachie.
PassionAir has since 2019 transported over 213,022 passengers.
