Ghanaian Woman Sets Record for Most Cars Washed in 8 Hours

A Ghanaian woman, Felicity Asantewaa, has secured her place in the annals of the Guinness World Records (GWR) after washing 60 cars in eight hours.
She hopped onto the attempt in March 2024 and has been certified by the world record keeper.
Asantewaa successfully surpassed the previous holder who managed to wash 55 cars within eight hours.
“The most cars washed in eight hours by an individual is 60 and was achieved by Felicity Asantewaa (Ghana) in Accra, Ghana, on 9 March 2024. Felicity broke the record by 5,” GWR confirmed on its website.
According to her, her passion towards cars encouraged her to select such a category.
“I love cars and I also know a lot of car brands. So, when I thought of empowering young women and promoting Ghana, I chose what I love to do to have an impact in the young women’s world,” Felicity said.
Additionally, it was intended to help eradicate gender inequality in some professions, particularly in Ghana.
“When I decided to do this, I didn’t want to do anything that is feminine. I decided to do something not very masculine but something that inspires young girls so that if they decide to venture into such male-dominated professions, they won’t be discouraged. This was to take away the mindset that some professions are for men.”
