Ghanaians are Too Luxurious to Complain About Economy
… Akufo-Addo’s Nephew Blasts
Ghanaians have been slammed for their luxurious lifestyles by Palgrave Boakye-Danquah, spokesperson on Governance and Security, who criticized the youth for complaining about the economy while enjoying lavish clubbing and boozing habits.
Despite ongoing economic challenges, with Finance Minister Mohammed Amin Adam expressing optimism for improvement, Palgrave shifted blame to the youth for their alleged extravagant behaviors.
He questioned their right to complain about hardships when they can be seen partying every weekend at clubs and pubs. Speaking on ZED FM, Palgrave did not hold back, calling out the youth for their perceived lack of financial struggles amidst claims of economic hardship.
His remarks drew mixed reactions, with concerns raised about potential offense caused to the youth.
This criticism echoes past controversies within the government, including derogatory remarks from Member of Parliament K. T. Hammond towards the youth.
The NPP’s recent boycott of TV3, a Media General subsidiary, further illustrates tensions with the media organization over alleged bias in coverage.
As the NPP’s stance on TV3’s shows continues, political figures like MP aspirant Eric Edem Agbana are calling for a re-evaluation of the boycott.
The situation remains unresolved, with uncertainty surrounding the party’s return to the affected programs.
