As part of a recent escalation against the Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah that began last month, Israel launched strikes in Lebanon’s capital, Beirut, over the weekend.

Twenty-three (23) people were killed and 93 wounded in the strikes on Saturday and overnight into Sunday, BBC cites the Lebanese Ministry of Health to have put out.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah is reported to be retaliating with rockets across the border into northern Israel. CNN reports that the explosion has displaced hundreds of thousands of both Lebanese and Israelis in the targeted areas.
