Give Attention to Education – Dorgbetor urges Students

Executive Director of John D.K. Dorgbetor Memorial Foundation has urged students to shift their mind towards education.

According to him, most parents forget to train their wards to attain higher height in their education.

Mr Benjamin Dorgbetor was speaking at a program dubbed ‘Changing Lives through Quality Education’. He asked the students in the farming Community to always ‘Shift in their Mind’ and take education serious.

John D.K Dorgbetor Memorial Foundation is a non governmental Organization that supports Agbogbla D/A basic school at Agbogbla a farming community in the Dabala Circuit of the Volta region.

At the launch of the Foundation aimed at Supporting Education within the Dabala Circuit in the South Tongu Constituency on October 24, 2019, 60 mono desks and a playing field were donated to the D/A basic school to promote Education in the Dabala Circuit.

As part of the aim of the Foundation, an award durbar was held at the school premises on November 25, 2019 during the durbar, they awarded 30 students that excelled in their various exams in Agbogbla D/A Basic to motivate other students in the farming community to learn effectively so that they can excel in their exams.

In a speech delivered on his behalf, the director of the foundation, Mr Benjamin Johnson Dorgbetor, asked the children to take advantage of their efforts since it will help them to become beneficial to the community in the future.

As part of the durbar, organized by the foundation, 30 best performing students were selected and awarded several prizes including books, bags and special certificate of merit from John D.K Dorgbetor Foundation. Ten computers were also presented to the school to furnish the new ICT laboratory of the school. A sod cutting ceremony was held for the construction of 3 unit classroom block for the school.

Parents in the community were advised to encourage their children to learn and speak good English from their childhood.

They also urged the community members to work together with the Foundation by sharing their ideas that will lead to the community’s development with the foundation.
