The Central Regional Police Command has increased high visibility patrols following the death of the late Nana Egyiri, Gyaasehene of Gomoa Akraman.
Gyaasehene of Gomoa Akraman, Yaw Egyir popularly known as ‘Osebo’ was on Monday murdered in cold blood at his residence by some unknown angry mob.
According to reports, the late chief was a notorious land guard who terrorized them until his unfortunate death.
The Central Regional Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Irene Oppong speaking on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem programme, Tuesday monitored by Ghanacrusader.com said, the visibility patrol is to restore calm in the area.
She said police will continue to ensure maximum security in the area due to the increasing crime rate in the area.
She, however, appealed to residents in Kasoa and its environs to assist the police with information to enable arrest the perpetrators.
DSP Oppong disclosed that a middle-aged man, who sustained gunshot wounds during the incident has passed away.
The victim nicknamed “Russia,” died Monday evening at the Winneba Trauma Hospital where he was receiving treatment.
No arrest has been made so far.
