Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Kwaku Asomah-Cheremeh, who assured the personnel, apologised to them for the delay in payment.

Some personnel have their allowance in arrears for five months.

He said, before the close of this week some of the allowances will be paid to enable them celebrate the Christmas with the remaining balance paid by the end of January.

The lands Lands and Natural Resources Minister gave the assurances when he interacted with personnel at the Diaba forest in the Bono Region. He said government regrets the inconvenience.

Thousands of youth employed by the Youth Employment Authority under the Youth in Afforestation Programme raised red flags over months of unpaid allowances over which some threatened to demonstrate, but the minister has assured that, government is doing the needful to ensure all arrears are settled within the shortest possible time.
