The Secretary and Interim Chairman of the Coalition of Aggrieved Customers of Menzgold (CACM), Samuel Odartey, has said that, Nana Appiah Mensah (Nam1), Nana Yaw Ofei, StoneBwoy and many other personalities must be immediately arrested by the government over the MenzGold saga.
According to him, Nam1 who was slapped with 61 criminal charges including money laundering has still has opened a new Gold refinery company and is signing new financial contracts (Tiisha) while being escorted by macho men while Menzgold customers continue to suffer stroke, heart attacks and even death.
“If indeed our laws are working and which we do believe, then we call on his Excellency the President Nana Addo to order the national security to cause the arrest of Nam1 immediately without delay,” he said, adding that, the claim made by Nam1 of paying GHC. 9.6 million to its customers are false and criminal.
“There is a company whose account and asset including his trassaco residence according to official report by EOCO via a court order have been frozen, so where did Nam1 get the money to pay GHC. 9.6 million and how was the payment done? And from which account did he make the payment,” he asked.
He said in 2019 when Nam1 arrived in Ghana from his hideout, he told the world that he had won a court case in of about $39 million from Horizon Royal in Dubai. The coalition believe it is the money that Nam1 is using. He has therefore appealed to the government to help Nam1 to retrieve the money so that he can pay the customers.
“We have been informed by our sources that the money has been received in Ghana recently by Nam1, when confirmed, that money belongs to customers and should be paid to us. What we want to know is it whether it is that money that he is using to sign on new Arts?”
Again, they want to know the whereabout of the 400kg gold that Menzgold told leadership of customers in a meeting that it is in the custody of EOCO, and the private jet at the Kotoka Airport
“We want to know the whereabout of the jet as at the present? We want to know the whereabouts of many many assets seized by EOCO and police CID, these include landed and movable properties,” he asked again.
