GRIDCo hints of Upcoming Dumsor
A statement released Wednesday, November 10, by GRIDCO explained the collapse of two adjacent towers near Bogoso in the Western Region.
The Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) has hinted at upcoming power cuts, saying it is having to deal with a collapsed mast.
According to GRIDCO, it is likely to undertake power management based on this, because the mast in question collapsed on a 330kV transmission line between Aboadze and Kumasi.
A statement released Wednesday, November 10, by GRIDCO explained the collapse of two adjacent towers near Bogoso in the Western Region.
“This has affected the national power system and may result in some load management. GRIDCo is working around the clock to replace the fallen towers within the shortest possible time”.
The company apologizes for any inconvenience caused and assures the public it is “committed to maintaining a stable network for reliable and efficient power delivery”.
However, this is reminiscent of a ploy by GRIDCO this year when it used a similar excuse to kick-start a period of power cuts across the country.
