The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Ayawaso North cnstrituency, Yussif Jajah, has once again white-washed his main contender, former MP, Dr. Major Mustapha Ahmed (rtd) in the just ended NDC primaries.
The Hon. MP, Yussif Jajah had 557 votes to wallop Dr. Mustapha Ahmed who recorded 255 votes after being optimistic of winning the primaries following the assurances from a large number of delegates.
In 2015 the former Youth and Sports Minister, Dr. Mustapha Ahmed, lost the NDC primaries as a sitting MP to Yussif Jajah who now represents the people of Ayawaso North Constituency in parliament.
The question of whether or not Major Dr. Mustapha Ahmed (Rtd) will still express interest in the position came from the people in the constituency per the results of the primaries.
We have gathered that some political gurus and financiers of the NDC advised the former Youth and Sports Minister to allow someone else to contest the young Jajah but he refused.
This was as a result of a number of supports from amongs a huge section of the constituency executives and delegates.
The Young Ayawaso North MP, Jajah got the unflinching support of the Constituency Chairman, Tahiru Ibrahim alias Baba Warabeba and a few executives to keep Dr. Mustapha Ahmed far from winning the primaries with a whooping difference of 302 votes.
In an interview the candidate-elect and MP who was full of praises to his maker said it was only Allah that led him to sail through. He said he did not underrate the contest because it was Dr. Mustapha Ahmed who was coming for a ‘re-fight’ in his quest to represent the people of Ayawaso North again.
He commended the constituency chairman and others, his advisers, and elders and acknowledged all others who in one way or the other made him to stand firm to fight on to win the primaries.
Yussif Jajah quick to hint that all the people was looking for is power in 2020 general elections and not who really wins the primaries.
