Having a Child Before Marriage isn’t Bad- McBrown
Such disadvantaged people, she indicated, end up committing costly mistakes along the journey of life.
Actress Nana Ama McBrown has asserted that having children out of wedlock is not necessarily something negative.
Acknowledging the principles of the Christian faith and Ghanaian culture which frowns at this, she indicated that not every individual is privileged to grow up in an ideal home with both parents present to provide necessities and guidance.
Such disadvantaged people, she indicated, end up committing costly mistakes along the journey of life.
Speaking in an interview with Bola Ray, the 46-year-old explained, “Having a child {before marriage} is not bad. I know Ghanaians will come after me for this statement. It’s not bad to have a child with someone and end up not marrying him…We have the statutes of the Bible, laws that govern us and our culture but then mistakes do happen as well. God perceived men will sin and that’s why he made provision for forgiveness.”
The TV personality added, “Not everyone has the advantage of a supportive family that prioritizes their growth and well-being. Many individuals, like myself, have experienced similar challenges. Some people face the absence of their parents and are raised by other relatives or unrelated individuals. Without proper guidance, these individuals may be more likely to engage in harmful behaviours that can lead to incarceration or unplanned pregnancies outside of marriage.”
