Health Minister Agyeman-Manu deserves a Slap for telling us “our health system is fragile”

For a Minister for Health, who inherited hospitals like the University of Ghana Medical Centre, Bank of Ghana Hospital, Fomena District Hospital, Abetifi District Hospital, Wa Regional Hospital, Bolga Regional Hospital, Maritime Hospital, Ridge Hospital, Madina District Hospital, Dodowa District Hospital, 37 Military Hospital in Kumasi, Kumasi Regional Hospital, numerous district hospitals, minimum it Polyclinics each across the ten regions, but have left some of these state-of-the-art hospitals completed closed till today while leaving those under construction to rot, to come look us in the face to tell us that our health system is fragile and can’t deal with severe outbreak in this time of COVID-19 outbreak, the first thing he needed was a SLAP. Forgive my language. The first response to him is a SLAP!

Do you think hospitals are built in time of crisis? We built to wait for things yet to come. When we tell you the John Mahama vision was too big for you, you would not accept it.

John Mahama and the NDC was building a ROBUST health system for this country. You abandoned the vision and made it this fragile and you are here seeking sympathies? If you have counted 600 contacts, it gives us a potential 600 cases. And we needed to be ready before today.

When you had the chance, you chose drones over completing hospital structures and fitting those completed. We are wasting really!
