Henry Osei Akoto descends on NAPO for referring to Prof Opoku Agyemang as an ‘old woman’
He, therefore, urged Ghanaians to vote against the NPP in the pending December 7, 2024, general election.
A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Henry Osei Akoto, has slammed the running mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the 2024 polls, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO), for his reference to the running mate of the NDC, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, as an old woman.
In a post shared on X on August 17, 2024, Osei Akoto indicated that NAPO’s comments show that he is disrespectful and unfit to be vice president of Ghana.
He, therefore, urged Ghanaians to vote against the NPP in the pending December 7, 2024, general election.
“The one who served an 80-year-old president is calling a 72-year-old strong woman an old lady.
“NAPO has zero manners and can’t be vice president. Vote them out!” he wrote.
What NAPO said:
Addressing a mini rally after a health walk in Takoradi, NAPO ridiculed Mahama’s choice of running mate, metrotvonline.com reports.
“In NPP, we balance experience with youth. A 60-year-old presidential candidate means a 40-year-old vice. How old was Akufo-Addo when he chose Bawumia? And because of God’s blessings, Bawumia is now the presidential candidate. Bawumia has chosen a youthful running mate.”
Contrasting NPP’s approach, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, who is the Member of Parliament for Manhyia South and the immediate past Minister for Energy, mocked Mahama, using some derogatory words.
“But Mahama, old and unwilling to relinquish power, chose an old woman [Prof Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang],” NAPO is quoted to have said.
