High cost of goods: Vote for the NDC for a change – Opoku-Agyemang woos market women

Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the Running Mate of the 2024 Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has highlighted the dire state of Ghana’s economy, using the rising market costs as a clear indicator.

Addressing market leaders, traders, commercial drivers, and commuters at the Mankessim market in the Mfantseman constituency, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang called for a change in leadership.

“We all go to the market and, therefore, we know how expensive and unbearable the cost of items, including food products, have become,” she indicated.

She urged: “If you want a change for the better, then vote for the NDC to return to power to effectively manage the country to reduce the cost of living.”

During her tour of the Central Region, she underscored the current government’s failures, asserting, “Ghanaians don’t need a lecture to know the extent of failure due to the mismanagement. Everything is clear in the markets and shops.”

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang emphasised the NDC’s dedication to market development, referencing past infrastructure projects in Mankessim and criticising the current administration for abandoning them.

“Haven’t we done it before?” she quizzed, urging support for the NDC to resume and complete the neglected projects.

She also unveiled plans for a Women’s Development Bank aimed at providing credit to traders, stating: “We have great plans for you traders.”
