Hon. Dafeamekpor holds Town Hall Meetings in South-Dayi

The Member of Parliament for the South Dayi Constituency, the Hon. Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor on Tuesday April, 6 led a team of party executives as well as campaign team members for the 2020 elections to begin holding Town Hall Meetings in communities within the constituency.

The meetings, which are scheduled in five phases, began from Peki-Anyensu, Dzake, Afeviofe, Tsame, Blengo, Dzogbati, Wudome and ended at Peki-Agbateh in its first day.

The 2nd day saw the team holding meetings in communities such as Tongor-Ahor, Anlo-Tonu, Old Kaira, Kaira-Kpalime, Tongor-Tsita, Tongor-Abui, Worwornyokofe, Toh-Kpalime, Duga among others.

The team expressed gratitude to the constituents for the support and their warm hospitality exhibited as well as their turn out and votes cast in favour of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) during the 2020 elections .

The meeting which are part of efforts aimed at reorganising the party in the constituency, saw the MP answer to numerous questions concerning the outcome of the party’s 2020 general election including the 2020 Election Petition.

Issues concerning the endorsement of president Akufo-Addo’s designated ministers featured prominently in the tour as constituents expressed their misgivings towards the happenings. The Honourable Dafeamekpor on his part, took time to explain to them how those matters occurred to their satisfactory.

He went further and apologized to them for any inconveniences caused by those happenings and used the platform to encourage them to operate together as a unit as a matter of fact to gather the pieces for the battle ahead.

The MP took opportunity in the first two days of the meetings to donate 45 and 50 bags of cements to Peki-Dzake and Tsame respectively to support constructional activities within the communities.

The team also took the opportunity to inspect some ongoing projects within the constituency. These projects include 6-unit classroom block with ancillary facilities at New-Kaira which is almost ready for use, construction of a Mechanized borehole at Tongor-Abui No.1 which is ready for use as well as the construction of a Mechanized Borehole at New Kaira through the assistance of an NGO, near completion.

The meeting is expected to continue today from Peki-Tsiyinu, Peki-Sanga, Wawase-Camp, Wegbe, Kpeve through to Tsokpokofe. It is expected to round up on Wednesday 15th April, 2021 at Tsatee-Kpalime with a climax.
