There is bumper-to-bumper traffic on roads in several parts of the capital city, Accra after hours of torrential rains left places flooded.

The heavy rains have left portions of the Accra-Kasoa Highway unmotorable.

Information available to newsalertgh.com indicates that the Wednesday afternoon rain washed down silt from the Weija hills onto the main highway rendering the Accra-bound route virtually unusable.

Areas including the Kaneshie First Light, Atala on the Kasoa road, Tema Station Junction, Ofankor Barrier, Taifa Junction, Madina Market, Osu and Adabraka were some of the places worst affected by the floods.
