I am on a Ghc 2 Million Bail – Prof Frimpong Boateng

Former Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Professor Frimpong Boateng, has disclosed that he is on bail.

He said no specific charges have been preferred against him, but it had to do with corruption-related issues.

His bail condition, he was told, was two million Ghana cedis.

Professor Frimpong Boateng, speaking to Evans Mensah on Joy News on Wednesday evening said that somewhere in May, he received an invitation from the Office of the Special Prosecutor, which he honoured with his lawyers.

“When I got there, I was ushered to the 7th floor and given a seat. While I was seated, a man put his hand on my shoulder and said, ’You are under arrest’, so I asked him what for, but he did not tell me what my charge was.”

Asked what his reaction was, he said he was surprised.

Prof. Frimpong Boateng’s reaction comes on the heels of speculations that he has been arrested and granted bail.

Prodded on what he was interrogated about, the former CEO of the Korlebu Cardio said the matter was under investigation, therefore, he would not speak further.
