The Paramount chief of Dormaa, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyeman Badu II has criticised the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for spending money on properties and hiring private jets while his people are suffering.

According to him, he will prioritise the welfare of people before buying properties.

“I will never hire a private jet while your basic amenities have not been provided. And I will not buy properties abroad while my people are suffering” the President of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs said when addressing his people.

He further took a swipe at Asantehene for saying some Bono chiefs are engaging in violence.

He said that statement is unpleasant and should not come from a prominent person like Asantehene.

Dormahene added that it is disrespectful for Asanthene to address Techiman Hene as his younger brother.

“The last time he (Asantehene) said Techimanhene has stopped acting violent like other Bono Chiefs. If someone says you are acting violent, is that not an insult? How can you say that and describe a prominent chief like Techiman Paramount chief as your younger brother. The first king in the Akan kingdom. He is your younger brother like how?” Dr. Osagyefo Agyeman Badu II stated.

He called on the occupant of Silver Stool of Asanteman and Vice President, Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs Region, Nana Osei Bonsu II and other chiefs in the Ashanti Region to talk to the Asantehene because his utterances are going too far.

“That statement that some Bono chiefs are acting anyhow should not come from a royal like his caliber. It looks like the cccupant of Silver Stool of Asanteman, Mamponghene and other chiefs in the Ashanti kingdom cannot talk to him so he is going too far. What I am begging Otumfuo for is that, if he doesn’t understand anything, he should not sit in his palace to address some issues.” He said.
