Mahama underscored the importance of national cohesion, calling for an end to the polarization and partisan politics that have characterized the current government’s tenure.

“Ghana’s strength lies in its diversity,” Mahama said.

“As President, I will foster a spirit of national cohesion, encouraging all Ghanaians to contribute towards nation-building, regardless of their political or ethnic affiliations,” he added.

Addressing the Youth

Speaking directly to the youth, Mahama acknowledged their frustrations and disillusionment with the current state of politics.

“I understand the frustration and disillusionment many of you feel. The current government has been undeserving of your trust,” he stated.

Mahama urged the youth to look beyond present challenges and dream with him of a “RESET Ghana” where talents and hard work determine success.

The 24-Hour Economy Vision

Central to Mahama’s vision is the implementation of a 24-hour economy aimed at creating decent, well-paying jobs and accelerating economic growth.

“Leadership is about vision, and the 24-hour economy is the vision to create decent and well-paying jobs,” Mahama explained. He emphasized that this initiative would increase production, boost the manufacturing sector, and reduce dependence on imports by encouraging local production.

Mahama highlighted the potential of the 24-hour economy to foster business growth and international trade. He promised a stimulus package for companies participating in this initiative, which would incentivize the production of import substitutes and boost exports.

“Through the 24-hour economy, businesses will be incentivized to start producing for this market,” Mahama said.

“This will create a network of foreign markets for Ghanaian entrepreneurs and transform Ghana into an export-led economy.”

National Pride and Economic Independence

Mahama stressed that the 24-hour economy is also about national pride and economic independence.

“It is about creating jobs through enhanced productivity, connecting Ghana with the wider world, and making Ghanaians proud of what they can accomplish here,” he stated. He assured that the 24-hour economy initiative is a comprehensive policy designed to expand critical and strategic segments of the economy sustainably.

Mahama also reiterated his commitment to resetting Ghana and leading the nation towards a prosperous future.

“My 24-hour Economy initiative will anchor my determination to change the structure of the Ghanaian economy through the active support of private sector-led growth. It will liberate Ghanaians from the shackles of unemployment and economic dependence,” Mahama declared.
