“If You Go To IMF, Then Mahama Is A Better Leader” – Ken Agyapong Concludes

“We made a lot of noise and destructive comments against John Dramani Mahama and the NDC government when they decided to go for an IMF bailout. We didn’t only do that, Dr. Bawumia went ahead to list some of the most feasible economic ways of avoiding going to the IMF to seek for greener pastures. If we who are endowed with such unparalleled economic knowledge, decides to finally go to IMF, then I’m sorry to say this but it means John Mahama is a better leader than us,”

The Assin Central Constituency Member of Parliament, Honorable Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, who is also a businessman and an aspiring presidential candidate of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has drawn some strong conclusions at the ongoing youth conference at Koforidua in the Eastern Region of the country amidst the unpopular IMF bailout brouhaha.

Kennedy Agyapong filled with much disappointment at his senior comrades in the New Patriotic Party namely President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Vice President, Mahamudu Bawumia, Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta and other ministers of state and the presidential advisors, concerning the decision to go to the International Monetary Fund to seek for economic support and bailout.

According to him, the high level of dissatisfaction and subsequent harsh noises and comments raised by the NPP at the time their main contenders, the NDC, decided to go to the same international organisation for assistance to bail out the economy is enough reason to not try doing the same thing.

He said that he is not afraid of anyone in the party and that he will continue to speak the gospel truth just as it is and no one can stop him from doing just what is right.

Ghana is indeed at crossroads as John Mahama puts it at a public lecture earlier in June. The unpopular Electronic Transactions Levy a.k.a E-Levy failed to generate the stream of revenue it was expected to generate hence the move to go to the IMF for a bailout of the economy.
