IGP Yohuno Revives Regional Police Public Affairs Units 

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has reactivated all regional police command public affairs units, a move aimed at reinforcing their mandate and enhancing police-public relations.

This decision marks a significant shift from years of centralized police communication, which restricted all official interactions to the headquarters in Accra. During that period, the police service was often unresponsive to media inquiries and public concerns on various national developments.

Speaking at the opening of a three-day workshop for public affairs officers, the IGP emphasized that the revival of these units aligns with 21st-century policing standards. He noted that the initiative would help curb the spread of fake news, disinformation, and misinformation about the police service and its operations.

His announcement was met with rousing applause from attendees, underscoring the widespread approval of the initiative.
