Kennedy Agyapong made these remarks while addressing supporters at Abossey Okai on Wednesday, where he joined the Running Mate of the party, Matthew Opoku Prempeh at a campaign event to rally support for Dr. Bawumia’s presidential bid.

He spoke to the concerns of the people in Abossey Okai, reassuring them that Dr. Bawumia is committed to addressing their issues.

He noted that while Dr. Bawumia is currently the Vice President and has limited power to effect immediate changes, his campaign promises include implementing flat taxes and removing excessive taxes on spare parts.

The Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong argued that these measures are designed to relieve businesses and improve economic conditions for the people in Abossey Okai.

The Assin Central legislature highlighted the achievements of the NPP under President Akufo-Addo-Dr. Bawumia led the government and stressed that the party’s focus was on building upon these successes rather than reverting to past policies.

“We should not allow a different government to come to power that will take us backward,” Agyapong said.

He underscored that Dr. Bawumia’s presidency would ensure continuity and progress in governance.

He also addressed criticisms directed at him for supporting Dr. Bawumia despite contesting him in the NPP presidential race.

He clarified that, as a party member, his support for Bawumia is in line with party unity and the collective goal of advancing the party’s agenda.

Additionally, Kennedy Agyapong criticized the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for their failure to implement meaningful social policies, despite their socialist label.

He contended that the NPP has effectively implemented policies that benefit the people, positioning the party as a more practical force for social welfare.

His call for unity and support comes at a crucial time as the party gears up for the elections, aiming to maintain its governance trajectory and address the pressing concerns of its supporters.
