Inaki Willams rescues Athletic Bilbao with stoppage-time goal

The Lions, on the other hand, did not give up despite having most of their attacks well-checked by the hosts. They almost lost the game after recovering from conceding and struggling to get back into it until injury time. Bilbao finally had their chance as the whistle blew for a penalty following a handball incident in the penalty area.

Black Stars forward Inaki Williams returned to the scoresheet with a stoppage-time spot kick to salvage a point for Athletic Bilbao in their La Liga match against Real Mallorca on Monday night.

Despite strong performances from both teams, neither side scored before the halftime break in the matchday 32 clash at Iberostar Estadi.

Williams took a stride forward and unleashed an excellent kick low past Predrag Rajkovic into the heart of the goal to equalise in the 96th minute.

The in-form Ghana international has now netted five goals in his last six appearances for the Spanish side while scoring nine all season and providing two assists in 30 La Liga appearances.

Athletic Bilbao are two points behind Real Betis, a team they will face on Thursday, in the fight for an European berth.
