Ineffective Leadership affected NDC’s Youth Front – Nii Afutu

A National Democratic Congress (NDC) Youth Organiser hopeful for the Greater Accra Region, Solomon Nii Afutu Quartey, has revealed that ineffective youth leadership in the region contributed to the party’s loss in the 2016 elections.

In an interview with in Accra shortly after submitting his completed nomination forms, he said the party’s youth front suffered from ineffective leadership that has ran out of ideas in mobilizing the youth to work for the party.

Nii Afutu noted that the youth were not motivated intrinsically to make them ‘die’ for the NDC to retain power in the 2016 general elections.

Though he would not disclose his strategies, his view is that the youth organiser ought to have worked harder to get more of the youth to vote massively for the party to have won the 2016 elections in the Greater Accra Region.

As a former Director of the Youth Entrepreneur Agency (YEA) in the Greater Accra Region, who helped numerous NDC youth to gain employment, and trained others in various entrepreneurship skills, he said he is coming to the youth front with innovative ideas to transform the youth front.

Nii Afutu promised among others to work hard to bring back all lost NDC youth. In an interview with this Portal, he was also grateful to God that Moses Apor, the Regional Youth Oganiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) cannot be a threat to him.

“Moses Apor knows my pedigree, qualities and my versatility when it comes to organizational work. This encouraged me to listen to the youth who were calling me to come for the Greater Accra Regional Youth Organiser position,” he stated.

Nii Afutu Quartey assured some of the delegates who accompanied him to file his completed nomination forms that he won’t disappoint them.
