In an interview with JoyNews, Mr Quartey assured that sufficient security measures have been put in place to ensure that residents of Bawku are not disenfranchised during the election.

“Bawku, as we know, has been a long-standing issue, and the state security, national security, have always put in place mechanisms to ensure that we protect lives and property and maintain law and order,” he stated.

He expressed confidence that there would be adequate security for the constituents of Bawku to exercise their right to vote in the general election, emphasizing that no one should be denied their right to vote.

“I know that there will be adequate security there for them to go and exercise their franchise. To the best of my knowledge, we are not expecting anybody to be disenfranchised in these elections,” he assured.

However, Henry Quartey stressed that the enforcement of the law would not be compromised, issuing a strong warning to those seeking to cause trouble in Bawku ahead of the elections.

“However, I keep saying, that doesn’t give them the right to misbehave because in every country there must be law and order. When you break the law, the law must deal with you. That’s all,” he concluded.
