The 2025 edition of the Inter-School Reading Quiz (ISRQ) was officially launched at the British Council in Accra under the theme “Literacy for All; Inclusivity in Action.” Organized by Perbi Cubs, this year’s quiz aims to promote literacy and reading comprehension among children aged 6 to 14 across schools in Ghana, with a unique focus on inclusivity.

Attracting over a hundred attendees, including previous participants, winners, traditional council members, and literacy-friendly organizations, the event highlighted the significance of improving literacy among young learners. Representatives from key stakeholders such as CENDLOS, Mastercard Foundation, and UNESCO underscored the crucial role of reading in shaping the future of Ghana’s youth.

The ISRQ 2025 promises to offer an enriching and competitive experience. With massive registrations from different regions, participating schools will compete in quizzes designed to foster a love for reading, expand vocabulary, and test literary knowledge across subjects and genres. The winning school will earn an international trip, with runners-up receiving valuable prizes and recognition.

A notable feature of this year’s competition is its inclusive nature. Mrs. Perbi, in a speech read on her behalf, highlighted that ISRQ 2025 is welcoming visually and hearing-impaired learners. She emphasized Perbi Cubs’ dedication to fighting Africa’s learning poverty through innovative literacy programs such as the digital library service and the Success Club.

As ISRQ 2025 gets underway, Perbi Cubs anticipates a celebration of reading excellence that encourages all learners, regardless of ability, to excel and foster a lifelong love for reading.
