It’s illegal to close down LGBTQ office – Lawyer
Human Rights lawyer, Joyce Opoku Boateng has argued that it will be illegal to invade and close down the office of LGBT in Accra.
Speaking to Morning Starr’s Lantam Papanko, the Human Rights lawyer said the LGBT people have rights that must be respected.
I don’t think it will be right for anyone to invade their office and attack them because they have not met to engage in any sexual activities. Every human being when you’re born has a fundamental right that no one can take away from you. But we have our norms and culture that frown upon certain things,” she said.
However, our checks on the lady have revealed that, she is a leading member of this government and is serving as the Deputy Chief Executive (DCE) officer of Middle Belt Development Authority, a position she was appointed to by the President, Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo. The Middle Belt Development Authority is mandated to primarily provide a framework for the accelerated economic and social development of the Middle Belt Zone currently comprising of the Ashanti, Eastern, Bono, Bono East, and Ahafo Regions.
On her Official Facebook page also, several pictures of her, actively engaging in party politics and seen in the company of top NPP and governmental officials like President Nana Addo, Vice Pres. Bawumia and many others are convincing proof that she is highly connected in Ghana’s politics.
