In response to a questioner who spoke pidgeon English, the former President tried to relate with him and responded in pidgeon to the admiration of the gathering.
Former President Mahama has assured the youth that his government will scrap obnoxious taxes such as the betting tax and e-levy in order to relieve the youth from their current economic predicament.
Mr. Mahama who was speaking at a “Town Hall Meeting” after an earlier Youth Manifesto launch in Accra on Monday expressed worry over why the Akufo Addo Bawumia government is imposing so much tax on the people inspite of high unemployment rate.

“Job no dey, boy dey hustle so small betting boys go use for gob3 too you wan tax am, I go scram”, the Presidential Candidate said.
He said his government is going to be youth focused as the youth he said are the backbone of the country.
Some of the policies Mr. Mahama announced earlier the Youth Policy included scrapping academic facility user fees for first year University students and training 1 million youth in coding.
The rest are create decent and well paying jobs for the youth and creation of a youth ministry to stand on it own to respond to immediate needs of the youth and offer support to them.
