John Mahama is a ‘selfish and self-centered’ man – NPP

New Patriotic Party’s Communication Director for Offinso South, Anthony Afriyie, has labelled former President John Dramani Mahama as ‘selfish and self-centered’ individual who only cares about the well-being of himself, family and cronies.

According to Afiriyie, the NDC flagbearer has given his all as far as politics and development of the opposition NDC and this nation is concerned. He recounted how he climb the political ladder starting from assembly member through to the Presidency. He believes it is time for Mahama to rest for a new candidate to lead the party ahead of the 2020 general elections.

He emphasised in a recent interview with Ghananewsonline.com.gh, that the former president is bent on killing the political career of his colleague NDC members by accepting to contest and subsequently lead the party as presidential candidate for the 2020 polls despite his humiliating defeat in the 2016 elections after he led an administration that recorded gargantuan corruption, hardships, cancellation of allowances to deserving students and supervising ‘dumsor’.

“The NDC overburdened Ghanaians with higher taxation, infrastructure deficit, unemployment, unstable electricity supply which drives investors away. They collapsed most businesses in the country and a major contributor to the formation of  unemployed youth association of Ghana.

“The NDC should have selected a new face to represent the party in the December elections who could at least correct the wrongs of former president Mahama who is presumed to be the luckiest politician in the countries political history” Afiriyie Anthony said.

He believes this 2020 elections is a cool chop for the NPP and President Akufo Addo, when he emphasized that “we are not under any pressure as far as this election is concerned, our unprecedented innovative policies implemented across all sectors and scattered across the country will speak for us in this election, we are targeting an overwhelming victory”

He called on party faithfuls especially communicators and branch Executives to campaign vigorously to see the party retain power to continue with it’s gargantuan developmental projects. He also advised supporters to avoid attacking the NDC running mate and it’s political opponents, rather campaign on the record’s of the government.
