Juaboso Assembly Dissolved

The Juaboso District Assembly in the western North Region in line with Directives from the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development (MLGRD) has dissolved.

In her sessional address to make the occasion on October 3, 2019, the District Chief Executive (DCE), Martha Kwayie Manu, Assembly lined up a number of programmes for the next meeting.

She intimated that this dissolution, as directed by the MLGRD is to be effected on October 7 2019.

While thanking God for his providence and assembly members for their hard work, thus bringing the assembly  this far, lack of funding and logistics not withstanding, Hon, Kwayie urged members to continue to work hard in unity so that they can  leave abefitting legacy for posternity even as the next district level elections draw closer. I wish you all the best in your upcoming election “ she declared

Programmes

Among the elaborate programmes lined up by the DCE were administration, Revenue performance 2019, District Performance Assessment Tool (DPAT) and projects both ongoing and old ones .

Others were sanitation, health, Government flagship program and youth Employment Agency (YEA). The rest were Education, Cocoa inputs, People Living with Disability (PLUD) Disbursement, Capacity building, District level Elections search and report from executive committees.

According to Hon. Kwayie all the key offers at still at post and working hard towards the achievement of their development agenda except Philip Alexander lutterford (chief Budget Officer) who had been promoted to Assistant Budget Analyst and transferred to Suaman Dadieso

Besides some officers from the District had been upgraded and transferred to Suaman Dadieso and vice versa

Revenue Performance for 2019

The DCE maintained that since revenue was the life blood for every Assembly, especially with the era of increased expectation of the assembly, it was high time revenue mobilization was increase

 DPAT

Hon Kwayie indicated that the 2017 DPAT Assessments have been crried out with the assembly performaing well with over 96%

Projects

Touching on projects, Hon. Kwayie mentioned both on going and old ones under supervision.

Sanitation

On sanitation, the DCE stated that as part of additional efforts to improve on sanitation issues the District, 17 communities have been rolled on the AF-SRWSP Community had Total Sanitation project as against the initial number of ten. She pointed out that out of this, four (4) basic open Defecation free (ODE) have been achieved.

Health

The DCE also outlined the types of health facilities available in the district. These included hospitals, health centers, clinics, maternity homes and functional CHPS, all totaling 48

Government flagship programmes

The Hon. DCE mentioned such programmes as Planting For Food and Rural Development (PERD) which had offered farmers the opportunity to expand and diversify the agricultural sector and to earn additional income for improved standard of living as well as establish a raw material-based for local industries

IDF

Hon. Kwayie pointed out that the District having been tasked to choose one cash free based on the ecology of the area, has settled on oil palm to feed the IDIF which is soap production using cocoa husk and palm kernel as major raw materials. while expressing gratitude  to the department of Agriculture for assisting the assembly the DCE said, 31500 seedlings of oil palm for distribution to interested  and prespective farmers forms, and expected to over 525 acres. she stressed that the assembly will continue to support agriculture, knowing its enormous benefit to the District and the country.
