Juaboso: Havilah Ministry goes Technology with E-Church
According to the Apostle, they started the E-Church programme during the Lock- down period of COVID-19. However, they have improved upon it to this level, stating that they started this effective programme since February this year.
After going digital a few years back, Havilah City of Prayer International Ministry Headquartered at Sefwi Juaboso in the Western North region, has added to its technical know-how with an effective E-church. Also, the church has established a Bible School for its pastors and leaders.
Effective E- Church?
After the sermon by the Head Pastor Apostle Gershion Gbedemah, he reached out to his E-Church members some of whom are beyond the shores of Ghana; most of them based in Canada, US, France, UK, for their take, comments and lessons on the sermon.
Their comments, which are telecast live via E-TV in the church, are audibly heard by the congregation in the church in amazement! This came to light last Sunday, June 11, 2023 when the ghananewsonline.com.gh paid a visit to the church.
Technology Battles Illiteracy, Ignorance
Later in an interview with Apostle Gershion who has earned the nickname Pap Gee by his members because of his spiritual exploits, he stated that technology is one way of battling literacy and ignorance, and that is exactly what he is doing.
Pap Gee noted that most pastors have run to the cities where such amenities abound leaving the rural areas very disadvantaged. He pointed out that it was against this background that he had chosen to go to the rural area, not only to transform lives there, but also to use technology to battle illiteracy and ignorance amongst the people.
Pap Gee was quick to point out that Jesus did not ignore his rural folks and as His follower, he will walk in his master’s footsteps.
He stated that with this technology, whenever he is away from Juaboso he only needs his laptop to liaise with his church members in an effective service and worship in church.
COVID – 19 Started It All
According to the Apostle, they started the E-Church programme during the Lock- down period of COVID-19. However, they have improved upon it to this level, stating that they started this effective programme since February this year.
Bible School
Pap Gee told this medium that the church has also established a in -house Bibles school for its pastors and leaders. This, he said was an in –house training programme.
According to him, it is to teach the students what the Bible is about and what was in the minds of the authors of the Bible at the time of writing it. Also he gives them special books to read, assignments and presentation to do in church, so as to enable them understand the Bible better.
“How can you say you are called by God and yet you don’t understand His Manual?” He quarried. He indicated that staring in June last year with about 13 students, the first batch of students will graduate in August this year, after which he can induct some as Pastors, Deacons, Deaconess and leaders.
Pap Gee, who happens to be the sole tutor and Principal said his students are taught such courses as Old and New Testament Surveys, Hematics, Contectics, and Christian Leadership among others.
