A middle-aged man, who sustained gunshot wounds during a cross-fire at Gomoa Akranmang in the Gomoa East District of the Central region, has died.
Central Regional Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Irene Oppong, revealed this on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem programme, Tuesday.
She said the victim, popularly called ‘Russia’, died Monday evening at the Winneba Trauma Hospital where he was receiving treatment.
This follows the brutal murder of Gyaasehene of Gomoa Akranmang, Yaw Egyir popularly known as ‘Osebo’ over an alleged land dispute.
DSP Oppong said no arrest has so far been made.
She assured of maximum security in the area due to the increasing crime rate in the area.
The PRO appealed to residents in Kasoa and its environs to volunteer information to enable police effect arrest.
She said they have been able to restore calm in the area and has also increased police visibility.
