Over 600 Kejetia petty traders have made a passionate appeal to His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, former President John Dramani Mahama, and the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, demanding a fair allocation of stores in the highly anticipated second phase of the Kejetia Market project.
The traders, who claim they were unfairly displaced from the original Kejetia Market, have warned of dire consequences if their demands are not met.

Speaking at a press conference in Kumasi, members of the Kejetia Petty Traders Association expressed frustration over years of hardship. Despite contributing financially to the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), they say they have been forced to operate on the streets, exposed to harsh weather conditions and enduring significant financial losses.

“We have suffered enough!” declared Mr. Emmanuel Kwarteng, Chairman and Founder of the association. “We were promised a place in the new market, yet we are being ignored. We are at the end of our rope!”
