KIA Cocaine Saga: Ntim Fordjour’s botched kidnap by lawless Mahama government

The NDC must remember that we are not in the Rawlings-led coup regime where there was no order and innocent citizens were harassed, killed, or otherwise harmed by the likes of Corporal Adabuga.

Yesterday, the residence of the Hon. Reverend John Ntim Fordjour was besieged by the National Investigations Bureau (NIB) in an attempt to arrest him for simply performing his constitutional obligation.

This will not be the first time the John Mahama-commissioned NIB has, in the name of gathering security intelligence, exhibited gross disregard for the rule of law we believe in as a democracy.

Ntim Fordjour’s crime was to only draw the attention of state security in a suspicious crime cocaine smuggling and money laundering at the Kotoka International Airport; a nationalistic move performed within his merits as ranking member of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Defense and Interior.

There are lawful ways to conduct a search or to effect an arrest at their properties. You need a warrant. Security officials deployed for the operation must be identifiable and not be parading in masks like a gang of armed robbers. In a democratic dispensation, how on earth will there be an assembly of gun-wielding thugs to trespass the property of a sitting Member of Parliament without following due parliamentary processes and worse of, without a search warrant. This is nothing more than an attempted KIDNAP!

Why would an MP be harassed in this manner for performing his constitutional obligation? Is this how we choose to tackle issues of national security for the next four years? When did whistleblowing become a crime?

The less said about inconsistencies of the government through its spokesperson, the better.
There are indeed questions to answer about the Air Med landings at Kotoka. This diversionary tactic will not wash!

THE NPP WILL NOT BE INTIMIDATED!!
