KKD bans discussions about his Guy Son
Media personality Kwasi Kyei Darkwa aka KKD, has served notice he will no longer discuss his son who came out as gay years ago during an interview with a digital magazine, intomore.com.
According to KKD, his son who is based in the United Kingdom (UK) plying his trad as Sales Executive for Harrods and Givenchy, is old enough to speak for himself.
In an interview, the veteran broadcaster told host of Joy FM’s Rhythm A-Z entertainment show, George Guaye, he will not be party to discussions about his 27 year old son in the media because he is a grown man who is independent.
He actually found the intention to get him to discuss his son, inappropriate and misplaced.
“My son, he is an adult so I don’t think it’s my business to discuss him. He’s old enough. If he is a child then yes but he is an adult so if you want to talk to him call him.
He works in the media so if you want to talk to him call him. My daughter [Ohemaa Asokwa Kyei-Darkwah] also does her work so if you want to talk to them, call them.

I am 55, my son is 27 and my daughter is 25. They are of age and independent so at this point, anybody who wants to have a discussion with them should speak with them.
I don’t think I will be here calling anybody and saying I want to speak with their son. If his son is an adult, I will be calling them and talking to them so this one you goofed George”, he told George who had sought to ask if he was comfortable speaking about his son.
In 2017, Kwaku Darkwah Kyei-Darkwah stunned many Ghanaians after he revealed in the interview with intomore.com his sexual orientation.
Despite the massive criticisms that greeted the model’s disclosure, his father came out to support him
According to Kwaku, he had been gay since his primary school days. The model said he had a difficult time coming out about his sexuality.
According to him, he used to hide it and remembered instances when he used to be very quiet, obedient and often stayed in his room so that he will not be noticed while living with his parents.
But he claimed he has gone past that stage in his life. He currently doesn’t feel the need to conform to anybody’s standard in terms of sexuality.
“The moment I realized I was gay happened in primary school. Someone called me gay as an insult and I responded with ‘so what?’ I was totally fine with it, but others weren’t and that was when the discomfort and shame with my sexuality started,” he told intomore.com.
