The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) says its attention has been drawn to the activities of some faceless individuals allegedly collecting money from unsuspecting victims under the pretext of allocating them shops in Phase II of the Kejetia Redevelopment Project while the project is still under construction.

Although the project is yet to be completed, the KMA says no decision has been taken on the amount to be paid on the allocation of shops, warning that persons who deal with such unauthorized individuals do so at their own risk.

It must be noted that no decision has been taken on the amount to be paid for the allocation of shops when the project is completed. At the appropriate time, all such information relating to the allocation and payment for shops and the modalities for payment will be made public.”

While such communication will be made public in due course, the Assembly is urging the public to report any person who engages in such acts to the secretariat of the Metropolitan Chief Executive or the security agencies for further action.
