Kotoko eye victory over league leaders FC Samartex on Sunday
“The fans should expect a new performance, a new energy level. Everything will be new in terms of our performance and we expect that at the end of the day, we will make them happy.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko is eying a victory on Sunday when they meet league leaders, FC Samartex at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in match day 27 of the Ghana Premier League.
This comes after Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II on Thursday, April 18, called an emergency meeting to address the recent issues surrounding the poor performances of the Porcupine Warriors.
Kotoko has in their last seven games drawn one and lost six, leaving them 11th in the league table with just 33 points.
Meanwhile, head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum, has said the technical team is working hard to turn the fortunes of the team around with a win against Samartex.
“Samartex stand as favourites for the game but the technical team is doing everything they can so Kotoko can get the results we want. So in terms of the physicality of the game, the psychology and tactics of the game, we are preparing very well for it so that Sunday, we can match Samartex boot for boot,” he stated.
“We are Kumasi Asante Kotoko and we can pull a surprise any day. The confidence level of the players is up and I believe if we take that confidence into the game, we can get the needed results.”
He further asked the Kotoko fans to come in their numbers to the stadium to support them, as he promised them an excellent performance.
“The fans should expect a new performance, a new energy level. Everything will be new in terms of our performance and we expect that at the end of the day, we will make them happy.
