Ever since leaving office as DCE for Juaboso in the Western North Region, Mr. Asiedu Mensah has become a sad reflection of himself as a result of penury and ill health.
In his present condition, the former DCE has not only become the negative talk of the town but a major source of criticism for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of which many speak of as falling into oblivion with it (Party) after leaving office by party members and functionaries
Such has been the plight of the former DCE who walks about the Juaboso township in misery and penury. Now, without a car and being all at the mercy of people Mr. Asiedu Mensah has not only become a sad reflection of himself but also the NPP administration which has been tagged as being carless and callous to its former appointees by some
KUFOUR’s BOY
While in office, Asiedu Mensah was reputed as one of the best performing DCEs for Juaboso, his cancel criticisms notwithstanding. He is reputed with distancing himself from corruptible practices and even creating profit for the Assembly. In-fact, he is reported to have left an amount of ¢2bn when he left office in 2009. This amount was alleged to have been squandered by his successor.
According to our information, once he was in the good books of President Kuffour he became not only careful, but also very cautious in speeding money at the assembly. Besides, he is reputed with building the current maket structure at Juaboso , more than 30 schools, whiles laying a very formidable foundation for the Assembly, upon which is successors would not toil and moil to expend development.
During his administration, Juaboso District Assembly became the 6th best out of 106 assemblies throughout the country. It therefore goes without saying that he has been reputed as the best performing DCE for Juaboso “He will not pick a quarrel with anyone!” marked one admirer
Yet such has been his plight and reward when he left office a few years ago ie; 2009 His only solace has been his intimate interpersonal human relationship which he has maintained thus seeing him through all these years.
DOUBLE AGONY
As is typical of a drawing object, which is denied holding by surrounding objects, the struggling Ex- DCE’s plight has been compounded further by the dying cocoa syndrome that has hit Sefwi. Accordingly his fortunes have further been deteriorated. Our information has it that from the harvest of 100 bags per year, he could hardly get 20 bags last year. The story is that he can hadly get 10 bags this year!
Meanwhile, with his expenditure exceeding his income, the struggling Ex-DCE is beset with the upkeep of his family, children at tertiary education, while attending to his ailing situation its not been busy! “Remarked another admirer
FRIENDS & PARTY MEMBERS ?
Since bad times don’t favour friendship and camaraderie, the ex-DCE appears left to his fate all alone, with his only trust in God. Though he is reported to have assisted very much the NPP during the 2016 general election However, since “A drowning man seeks momentary footing even on sliding stones”; will any immediate help come from Macedonia ?
