Kwadaso: Aggrieved NPP supporters bear teeth at Gifty Ohene Konadu, party execs

Some aggrieved supporters of the governing new Patriotic Party (NPP) have called out Constituency executives of the party and the National Election Committee headed by Hon. Gifty Ohene Konadu for what they say is an attempt to circumvent the laid down elections protocols by conducting a dawn election backed by the military.
According to the convener of the aggrieved supporters, Abu Mahama, at 4am this morning, Hon Gifty Ohene Konadu stormed Kwadaso with military men to conduct a shambolic polling station elections when she has not informed anyone about it.
Hon Gifty Ohene Konadu, they claim was nominated by the MP Hon Kingsley Nyarko as the regional representative and the chairperson for the polling station election committee, adding that since she assumed this position her primary focus is to skew the election process to favor the MP and his cohort.
“This is shameful, especially as a former MP and matured politician as she is. She has disqualified all perceived anti-MP delegates and went ahead to conduct an illegal election at dawn. The people of Kwadaso would resist this attempt and would not allow this fake election to stand. Hon Gifty is a total disappointment to the party and she must be stopped in her tracks.” they stressed.
They, therefore, called on the rank and file of the party to intervene to quell the growing tension in the constituency otherwise the party stands risks going to opposition.
Responding to allegations in a phone interview, Madam Gifty Ohene Kunadu described the aggrieved supporters as a few people who are on a self-seeking mission but was quick to add that it is normal to hear supporters of a particular party making noise in protest of what they think is not going in their favor.
She added that polling station elections in the constituency have been conducted successfully and peacefully and that they now have the full number of polling station executives to manage the party from the grassroots until the next elections.
When asked how the elections were conducted since she was not allowed to even alight from her car, she said they used a strategy but couldn’t tell the strategy used.
“Some polling stations just needed acclimation and I did just that for them. The people you saw at the polling stations were not there to vote, they were to be acclaimed,” She added.
