Appiah, who has had two stints with the Ghana senior team as head coach, remains open to a possible comeback to take the Black Stars. The 64-year-old first served as the head of the team between 2012 and 2014 before coming between 2017 and 2020.

With the team dwindling in recent times, Appiah’s name has been mentioned as a potential person the Ghana Football Association (GFA) should consider should there be the need to move Otto Addo on.

“You have to be professional. Whether you would do it or not, you have to keep it in mind because you never know what will happen,” Appiah said to Asempa FM when quizzed about coming back for a third time.

“At the moment, I have a contract with Sudan, and I am working with them. As a professional, you don’t jump to conclusions because you never know what the future holds.”

Since leaving the Black Stars coaching job, Appiah has worked at Kenpong Football Academy before accepting the head coach role at Sudan, going the latter to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and beating Ghana en route to reaching that feat.
