La Dadekotopon NDC inaugurates Women’s Wing

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the La Dadekotopon constituency has inaugurated its women’s committee ahead of the August 24 parliamentary primaries and the general elections in 2020.

Inaugurating the wings, the Greater Accra Regional Secretary of the party, Theophilus Tetteh Chaie, charged the women to be focused and selfless to the concerns of their followers so as to put the party on a good pedal in the area.

He said women are hardworking and must be engaged.

He commended the Constituency Women’s Organiser, Augustina Abbey, for forming the committee while urging her to ensure that she brings more women onboard to help increase the party’s votes in the constituency.

Tetteh Chaie told journalists in an interview that NDC Constituency Executives who support aspirants in the Parliamentary contest in the region would not be pampered.

He said the region has suspended some executives of some constituencies who were caught to be openly supporting some aspirant.

He said the move is to instill discipline during and after primaries for the needed unity to reign supreme going into elections 2020.

Madam Abbey, in her remarks emphasized the importance of women to the success of every decision making process which is why she found it prudent to group her colleagues women into committees to enable them work hard for the party so it would  snatch the parliamentary seat and to increase the margin of votes in the presidential elections in 2020.

The various groups are Political Committee; Welfare and Social Committee; Finance Committee; Operations and Outreach Committee and Council of Elders.

She was confident that the committees would work hard in their various capacities to bring the NDC back to power in 2021.
