Gospel singer, Lady Prempeh has taken to TikTok to explain her absence from stage during Esther Smith’s concert at the Perez Dome.

The event held on Friday, August 30 marked Esther Smith’s return to the music scene after a decade hiatus.

Several well-known gospel artistes performed at the concert but Lady Prempeh was notably missing from the lineup of performers, despite being billed for the show.

In a video on her TikTok page, Lady Prempeh narrated the events leading to her inability to perform at the concert.

She explained that she had originally been invited to perform at performances in Kumasi, Accra, and Takoradi five months earlier and had been in contact with Esther Smith at that time.

According to her, three weeks to the day of the event she was called to chose only one of the concerts as the artistes billed were many.

She agreed and chose to perform at the Accra concert.

“Five months back, Esther Smith called me about a programme in Ghana in Kumasi, Accra and Takoardi and she would want me to perform at all three shows. So, I made her contacted my management and there was an agreement for me to perform at all three concerts.

“Fast forward, three weeks back my management spoke to me that the artistes billed for the concerts are many so I have to chose one region to perform and I chose to perform in Accra,” she narrated.

The gospel singer continued that after agreeing to perform, there was uncertainty on the date for rehearsals up until the day of the event when she was contacted for a dress rehearsal.

“It was left with rehearsals and there was a back and forth with the rehearsals and I didn’t hear from them. My management tried to get in touch with them for a date but we couldn’t get one.

“Until on the day of the event which was Friday, I was told about a dress rehearsal and so I had to leave behind all my plans and go for the dress rehearsal till 2pm at Perez Dome,” she added.

Lady Prempeh said she was expecting to perform at the main event after going to the dress rehearsal.

However, on the morning of the performance, a different artiste informed her that they had not included her flyer from the promotional materials.

Despite this, Lady Prempeh figured it was an error because her manager had communicated with the event planners only a week prior.

According to her, she was present at the concert throughout the event but to her surprise, she was not called to perform.
