Last Hour Mafia Game: Education Ministry, GES Targeted

Last minute mischief towards the December 7, 2020 elections has gathered momentum with speed as falsehoods and fake news continue to spread like wildfire.

The Ministry of Education and agencies under the ministry are being hit hard with lies, palpable falsehoods and concocted stories as issues bothering on education have become the pivot around which the 2020 election campaign revolves.

Some faceless elements have managed to flood some social media platforms with lies about top officials of the Ministry of Education and the Ghana Education Service (GES).

The success of the Free Senior High School (Free SHS) and the overall progress made in the education sector under the current handlers of the sector are what is making the mischief-makers unhappy for which reason they have resorted to dirty games.

An anonymous retired headmaster, suspected to be a former General Secretary of one of the Teacher Unions in Ghana, is peddling total garbage about the Education Ministry and the GES.

The anonymous Retired Headmaster in a write-up, suggests intimidation on the part of some of the handlers of the education sector.

In what could be described as childish, the anonymous Retired Headmaster could not name a teacher or educational worker who has been intimidated or harassed by officials at the Ministry of Education or the GES.

There are all indications that many of such mischievous, unsubstantiated, and baseless agenda would be unleashed in the coming days against the educational sector because discourses on education are the center of the December 7, 2020 campaign.
