Lead in truth, honesty and integrity – Chief Justice tells new leaders of JUSAC
“The history of this association imposes a great responsibility on you to continue to provide the leadership that meets the aspiration of your sizable members which, with the benefit of knowledge, experience and lessons of the past, are even more demanding or perhaps unforgiving of any failings on your part. Lead your membership in truth, honesty and integrity, keeping in mind that you, just like them, also start from the judicial service.
The Chief Justice Kwasi Anin-Yeboah has told new leaders of the Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG) not to laud their position over their members.
He asked them to serve in truth, honesty and integrity.
He said these while speaking at a meeting with the leadership of JUSAG in Accra on Tuesday October 11.
He said “The history of this association imposes a great responsibility on you to continue to provide the leadership that meets the aspiration of your sizable members which, with the benefit of knowledge, experience and lessons of the past, are even more demanding or perhaps unforgiving of any failings on your part. Lead your membership in truth, honesty and integrity, keeping in mind that you, just like them, also start from the judicial service.
“Never try to over impose yourselves on them, the association exists because of its members and you hold your exalted position by virtue of their benevolence and the trust they have all reposed in you.”
Justice Anin-Yeboah further announced that the judges residential complex in Kumasi in the Ashanti region is going to be commissioned next week Monday.
Explaining why he appeared late at the meeting, he said “Please accept my apology for not being here on time. Indeed, yesterday I was unable to come to work because I had to attend to more pressing matter in Kumasi and I came just this morning. As some of you may be aware, we are going to commission the residential complex in Kumasi on Monday and we have invited some of the Directors to be with us.
“So, I had to spend the whole time with the consultant, the contractors, and the regional Minister.”
In April last year, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo cut sod for the construction of 20 residential facilities for Court of Appeal judges in Kumasi.
Supported by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, and the Chief Justice, Justice Kwasi Anin Yeboah, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo cut the sod to signify the beginning of construction works for the accommodation facilities.
“With the collaboration of the Ministry of Local Government and the District Assembly Common Fund, 20 townhouses and a guesthouse are being built to be used as permanent residences for Court of Appeal Judges based in Kumasi, who will be mandated to handle cases in the northern part of the country,” Mr Akufo-Addo said.
