Legal practitioner claims NDC’s actions in ambulance case appear choreographed

“If you feel you have a very good case, why not wait until your case is called in court?” He added, “For me, in my humble opinion, the haste with which the NDC has run to town with this matter makes it seem like the whole thing was choreographed.”

Nana Adjei Baffour Awuah, a private legal practitioner, has remarked that the actions of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the ongoing ambulance procurement case appear to be orchestrated.

The Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Godfred Yeboah Dame, has denied allegations made by the third accused, Richard Jakpa, during court proceedings on Thursday, 23 May. Jakpa claimed that the Attorney General sought his cooperation to secure a conviction of the first accused, Cassiel Ato Forson, the former Deputy Minister of Finance and current Minority Leader.

Richard Jakpa, suspected of recording the Attorney General, is on trial alongside Cassiel Ato Forson in connection with the ambulance procurement case, which allegedly resulted in a €2.3 million financial loss to the state.

The NDC has stated that it will soon present evidence to support the claims made by Jakpa in the ongoing trial.

Reacting to the situation on the Asaase Breakfast Show on Tuesday, 28 May, Baffour Awuah questioned the urgency of the NDC’s actions, stating, “If you feel you have a very good case, why not wait until your case is called in court?” He added, “For me, in my humble opinion, the haste with which the NDC has run to town with this matter makes it seem like the whole thing was choreographed.”
