Legon Botanical Gardens Closes Down Soon
The 50-hectare Legon Botanical Gardens is owned by the University of Ghana and managed by both the Department of Botany and Mulch Company Ltd.
Mulch Company Ltd, the management of the Legon Botanical Gardens located inside the University of Ghana (UG), Legon, has announced plans to close the tourist attraction site at the end of this month.
In a post on X formerly Twitter, the company made the official announcement to the surprise of the public.
“We are Closing the Legon Botanical Gardens on 30th October, 2024. We believe we have been able to put lots of smiles on countless number of faces all these years. Legon Botanical Gardens was a chapter.”
The circumstances surrounding the closure are not immediately known.
The 50-hectare Legon Botanical Gardens is owned by the University of Ghana and managed by both the Department of Botany and Mulch Company Ltd.
It was established in 1950 to create an environment where people conference with nature to inspire change in themselves and in the world.
It is a recreational centre with a Children’s Playground, High Rope Course, Junior Rope Course, Canoeing, Canopy Walk, Woodlands, Bird Watching, Fishing and Cycling sections.
The news has come as a surprise to the public, with many seeking the motivation for the move.
