Commercial drivers along the Aflao-Accra road are calling on the Ministry of Roads and Highways and the National Road Safety Commission (NRSC) to hep regulate the numerous speed ramps on the roads to prevent accidents and in turn save lives.
Interacting with Ghananewsonline.com.gh some of the drivers and passengers complained bitterly about the number of speed rumps on the Aflao-Accra and Denu-Ho roads adding that some of the speed rumps were unauthorized and in several cases haphazardly constructed, a situation that should be addressed by the relevant authorities.
“Day in day out there are numerous unauthorized speed ramps springing up most often and these ramps are without a sign to draw the attention of motorists,” they stated.
The National secretary for the Progressive Transport Owners Association (PROTOA), Cephas Exe told the ghananewsonline.com.gh that, “PROTOA Ghana has over the years been appealing to the Road Safety Commission, DVLA, MTTD and Ministry for Roads and Highways to help replace and repair all damaged or missing guide signs, warning signs along the Aflao-Accra road and Denu-Ho roads but our appeals have since not yeilded any response or action from the authorities”.
