Mahama accuses Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government of prioritizing slogans over action
John Dramani Mahama, the Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has strongly criticized the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration for neglecting key issues impacting Ghanaians.
According to Mahama, the government has focused more on slogans than taking tangible steps to address challenges faced by the public.
In a Facebook post on November 25, Mahama expressed particular concern over the plight of farmers, accusing the government of failing to support them. He pledged that an NDC administration under his leadership would prioritize initiatives to improve the agricultural sector and support farmers.
“Over the last 8 years, this Addo-Bawumia government has prioritised slogans over action. They have forgotten about our farmers. The NDC will deliver,” he wrote.
Mahama reiterated his commitment to boosting production capacities in commercial crops, including shea, oil palm, cashew, rubber, coconut, citrus, coffee, and mango. He emphasized that these initiatives would provide significant economic opportunities for farmers and contribute to national development.
He also accused the government of mismanaging the economy, leading to hardships such as rising food prices and underdevelopment in communities. “The hardships we are facing, the rising prices of food, the lack of development in our communities, among others, is because of the criminal supervision of the destruction of our economy by Nana Akufo-Addo and Mahamudu Bawumia,” Mahama stated.
The NDC leader’s remarks come as he continues to outline his vision for addressing the country’s economic and social challenges ahead of the 2024 general elections.
