The Mahama Campaign has apologised officially to Joy News reporter, Parker Wilson, who was allegedly assaulted by a member of the security detail of former President John Mahama.
According to the journalist, he was allegedly slapped by the security detail when he attempted to cover a meeting between the Ex President and the authorities of the Pentecost University. Journalists covering the Ex President’s campaign were told not to cover that particular meeting.
In a statement issued by the spokesperson for the team, James Agyenim Boateng, shortly after the incident, the team apologised to the journalists and assured the public of full investigation into the matter.
The team vehemently condemned the attack calling it regrettable and completely unacceptable.
The group has called for thorough investigation into the incident and has assured the public that it will import the appropriate sanction for such unbecoming behaviour. The group also extended its profound apology with regret to the Multimedia Group and the media community on the unfortunate incident
The Spokesperson Mr James Agyenim Boateng in his statement said the in charge of security has been informed about the incident. The team is waiting for the report for the appropriate action to be taken.
