“The government made lofty promises to Ghanaians, but the reality today is a struggling economy, rising unemployment, and unfulfilled pledges,” he stated.
He further argued that the policies outlined in the budget lacked clear direction and practical solutions to address the country’s pressing challenges.

He also took issue with what he described as inconsistencies in the government’s fiscal plans. “This budget does not reflect the bold and decisive leadership Ghanaians were promised. Instead, we see vague assurances and recycled policies that offer no real solutions,” he asserted.
Mr Afenyo-Markin stressed that the opposition would continue to hold the government accountable and ensure transparency in policy implementation.
The Minority leader concluded by urging the government to take responsibility for its shortcomings and reconsider its approach to governance.
He emphasised that Ghanaians deserve a leadership that prioritises tangible progress over rhetoric. “Ghanaians are watching, and they will not be deceived by empty promises. It is time for the government to act decisively and fulfill its mandate,” he stated.
